Cheltenham Almshouses and Aid is run by a board of voluntary trustees, and administered in accordance with schemes prepared by the Charity Commission. The day-to-day supervision is undertaken by the Clerk and the Administrator.

At present the charity is looking for a number of new trustees to join the board and play a vital role in the continuing success  of the organisation moving forward.

With a large portfolio of properties and a healthy balance sheet, we would particularly welcome those with experience in finance/investment, building maintenance or health & safety.

We provide housing to many people, either working or retired, who wish to live in well maintained, peaceful communities.  Some of our residents may need help with personal matters such as benefit applications, pensions or liaising with social services.  Our clerk will deal with these aspects directly on a day to day basis however, the charity is also looking for trustees with knowledge of general resident welfare.  Your help in this field could be immensely valuable to our residents, some of whom may not have any family members nearby to support them.

At present we undertake little marketing so would welcome a trustee on board who could help raise awareness of the charity.

If you feel you can help us and are keen to help make a difference to people’s lives please contact Cath on 01242 522180 or cath@cheltenhamalms.org.uk

Many thanks and we look forward to hearing from you
